Born In 1956 in Rumburk. Lives and works in Prague, Czech Republik. He graduated with an MA from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under professor Arnošta Paderlíka and professor Jiří Ptáčeka.
1995-2002 head of the atelier of visual communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague since 2004 head of the intermedia atelier and the concept atelier at the Academy of applied arts, architecture and design Prague.
David’s work has been exhibited in numerous one-man and group shows, e.g. at Riverside Studio in London (1988), Kunstverein, Köln, Gallery Artists Space in New York, Venice Biennale (1990, 1993, 1995), Art Institute in Chicago (1992), Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville in Paris (1992), CCA Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw (1996), MUMOK in Vienna (1999), Musée de l’Elysee, Lausanne (2000), Ludwig Museum, Budapest (2003), National Portrait Gallery, London (2006), National Centre for Contemporary Arts, Moscow (2006), Galerie Hlavniho Mesta Prahy Prague (2009), Bundeskunsthalle, Bonn (2009), Museum of fine arts, Budapest (2011). Solo exhibition at MOMA, Moscow is scheduled 2015.
